Top End Rebuild Parts
I was told by someone in my local motorcycle shop that the piston and rings on a DTR should be replaced every 12000 miles (on a standard bike). Therefore it would probably be wise to replace them after less miles on a derestricted DTR. My bike is on 8600 miles at the moment, so I've bought a piston, rings and the other parts required so I can do a "top end" rebuild in a couple of weeks.
I plan to replace mine at around 9000 miles.
I'll try and make time to do a step-by-step guide to help people do their own Top End Rebuilds.
